Congratulations to our Lowther Hall Big Band for their second place win at the Mt Gambier 'Generations in Jazz' Festival! The girls competed against hundreds of students from schools around Australia over the weekend in this popular and prestigious event.

One of the many ways we connect Old Grammarians with current Lowther students is by holding guest speaker events. The annual Year 7 'Lowther Stories' morning provides girls with the opportunity to hear about life as a Lowther girl from Old Grammarians who attended our School from the 1930s to the 1990s. Thank you Anne, Mary, Lois, and Sarah!

It was a joyous morning today at Lowther Hall as we held our "Blessing of the Animals"! Girls in Grant House brought pet dogs (and a brave guinea pig) to the blessing held by our Chaplains, Reverend Emily and Reverend Fiona, and we gave thanks for them and the animals of the world.

In celebration of International Women’s Day we were delighted to be able to join with more than 200 members of the School Community for the annual Lowther Women Lunch on Thursday last week, where past and present students, staff, parents, board members, donors and friends of the School enjoyed a two course meal and a wonderful presentation by a panel of Lowther Women addressing the theme of “Balance for Better”.

Congratulations to Clarke for winning the Senior School House Peforming Arts Competition! Entirely student led, the girls write, dance, sing, act and stage manage a musical based on a theme, which this year was: "Take a walk on the wild side".

We are delighted to have received photos of students in Tanzania making use of donated items from our previous Lowther uniform! Thank you to our families for your donations, and to Mrs Anastasia Haikalis for facilitating this program.

Say "hi" to our Lowther girls as we welcome them for their first day of school for the year! We look forward to sharing an excellent 99th birthday year with all of our community. Welcome to Term 1!
