The Generations in Jazz Festival is the largest Big Band competition in the southern hemisphere. Last year there were over 3,000 student musicians from every state in Australia performing across the weekend. In addition to performing and listening to other school bands, students had the opportunity to hear some of the best jazz musicians in the world play, including James Morrison and Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band.

The Lowther Hall Stage Band under the guidance of Ms Sonja Horbelt performed brilliantly and were awarded 5th place in Division 4 against 27 schools from around Australia. Well done girls!
