In conjunction with a Moonee Valley City Council initiative, Lowther Hall has opened its doors to dance students from various local secondary colleges in the area.

The students from St Columba’s, Rosehill, Buckley Park and Essendon Keilor Colleges venture to Lowther Hall for weekly VET dance classes, to study dance in their final VCE years.

“VET Dance provides students with an opportunity to participate in real dance industry experience. It is a unique environment where the performing arts industry is the focus and style-specific performance is key”, says Performing Arts teacher Ms Elizabeth Kerr.

“Students from different schools are working together and sharing in their passion for Dance. It is just as exciting seeing the new friendships formed as it is to see their skills develop over the 2 year program”, Ms Kerr said.

The students are gearing up for an upcoming dance industry day at Ministry of Dance, in preparation for their end of year performance examination.
