Future Schools Conference:
I am writing this week from Sydney, where Ms Tracy Healy (Deputy Principal – Head of Senior School) and I are attending the “Future Schools” Conference. It has been stimulating to hear from international speakers about the various challenges that schools will face as we move into the future. There have been specific workshops exploring the qualities and dispositions that the next generation will need to be equipped with and many of these resonated with our own “Qualities of a Lowther Hall Girl” which we work to develop in our girls. We were reminded that the most important things for schools to continue to focus on are our mission and purpose – in the case of Lowther Hall, to educate the whole person for the whole of life. In addition, new technologies which make learning more accessible to all students have been demonstrated and showcased. It has been a highly valuable 2 days.

Grandparents’ Day:
Before I departed I was glad to be able to share Grandparents’ Day with the Junior School girls. It is so important for us as a School to have families connected to the work that we do with the students and I enjoyed speaking to many grandparents about their involvement in the day.

Rowing:
On the weekend I am looking forward to heading down to the Barwon River to cheer on our Rowing Squad at the Head of the Schoolgirls Regatta. I wish them the very best of conditions in this premier event of the season.

School for Scandal:
Please note that tickets for this year’s school production are going on sale this week. Make sure that you get in quickly to get your seats as this is sure to be a show that you will greatly enjoy. I know that you will want to support all of the girls and staff who have worked hard to put together this wonderful event.
