Whichever uniform is chosen, it needs to be worn in accordance with the uniform rules. By Monday 5 May, we would expect all girls to have switched over to Winter uniform. I ask parents to please check that Winter uniforms are the right size for girls who will no doubt have grown since last year. Skirt hems should be at the knee and other items should fit comfortably. Girls have been wearing the Summer uniform very well this year and I am confident that we can achieve the same high standards over the winter months.

Girls across Junior and Senior Schools had the opportunity to work with composer in residence, Mr Paul Jarman this week. The Student Council and Music Captains had already brainstormed ideas for a new piece of music to be written for the School and this was built upon in workshops with Mr Jarman on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was wonderful to hear the Senior School girls sing the School Song, School Anthem and Celebrate the Day with great enthusiasm to launch this experience and demonstrate to Mr Jarman just how much Lowther girls love to sing! We are looking forward to following the composition of a new work for our School community as it evolves over the next few months.

I hope that many families have already purchased their tickets for The Wiz – our Senior School production for 2014. It is important as a community that we support the staff and girls who have worked hard over the last 6 months to bring us this wonderful show and I am sure it will be a great experience. I look forward to seeing many of you at a performance later this month.
