We were very proud to have celebrated and long standing Melbourne comedian Rod Quantok visit Lowther Hall on Wednesday 27 August.

In an inspired 'mathematical' performance, he regaled our Years 7, 8 and VCE students with tales of famous mathematicians from early-history, as well the the turbulent and often dramatic history of mankind's quest for mathematical truth - all delivered with his trademark style of stand-up comedy.

Beginning with the Big Bang, Quantok explored the development of numbers, acted out the paradoxes of Zeno of Elea, re-lived the death of Archimedes and Evariste Galois, and also brought into the spotlight history's hidden women mathematicians.

What an exciting and inspiring morning for our students; thank you Mr Quantok for such a wonderful performance!
