Learning in Lowther Hall’s Junior School is exciting, stimulating and challenging. Our focus is on providing every girl with the opportunity to discover her strengths and interests while mastering the essential academic skills required for success in school and in life.
Building Foundation Skills
Informed by the 12 Qualities of the Lowther Hall Girl and consistent with our goal to educate the whole person for the whole of life, our Junior School classroom program concentrates on building key foundation skills in literacy and numeracy. This is complemented by a range of specialist opportunities such as Music, Japanese, Philosophy and Religious Studies, Library, Visual Arts and Sport as well as a plethora of cocurricular opportunities, excursions and camps. We cater to each student’s individual learning requirements through differentiated, point of need classroom teaching and through our learning strategies and gifted and talented programs.
Developing the personal qualities of every girl in our community is a priority for us and Junior School’s pastoral care program features our comprehensive Skills 4 Life sessions, designed to help our girls develop resilience, high self-esteem and positive relationships. Personal development is also fostered through our Year 6 leadership program and through involvement in service activities linked to the School motto, Non Nobis Solum.
