SILVER FOR OUR HIP HOP TEAM

Our Senior School Hip Hop team Monster Crew have
taken home Silver at the National School Aerobics Dance Star Championships on the Gold Coast.

SILVER FOR OUR DIVE TEAM 2014

The Lowther Hall Diving team has won silver at the GSV Diving Championships. 

Junior, Intermediate and Senior teams performed well, with our Junior and Intermediate teams placing 1st and 2nd in their respective divisions. We are proud of their achievements; their training and dedication to the sport has culminated into an impressive and successful year for diving.

FIRST PRIZE SUCCESS AT THE BOROONDARA EISTEDDFOD

Our Junior School Chamber Choir were awarded 1st Prize in the Boroondara Eisteddfod Junior Choir section in 2014.

This prestigious competition and prize is a wonderful honour for our Junior Choir girls who sang beautifully in both the heats and final against many renowned choirs. A flawless and glowing report by the adjudicator mentioned the beautiful diction and tone of the combined voices and the delicacy and musicality of their overall perfomance. congratulations girls and thank you to our Head of Choral and Voice Ms Joanne Carroll for all her hard work.


GSV CROSS COUNTRY STATE CHAMPIONS

Lowther Hall has recently become state champions in their division for the second year in a row after placing 1st at the GSV Championship Cross Country Carnival in May 2014.

Our Junior, Intermediate and Senior teams ran 3km and 4km respectively, with each team performing spectacularly well. 

Over 35 girls participated in the event, with special mention to Molly Gallagher, Leteitia Presser, Mardi Sutherland, Demi Marston, Maddison Caulfield and Caroline Higham for placing the top ten in the state for their respective races.

Congratulations to our Senior School Cross Country team for such an amazing achievement. 


HIP HOP TEAM TO COMPETE IN NATIONAL FINALS

After successfully winning silver at the Dance Star Victorian State Finals 2014, our Lowther Hall hip hop team Monster Crew, is off to the Gold Coast to compete in the National Finals in August. Congratulations to the girls on all their hard work and training, and good luck for the finals!


STAGE BAND SUCCESS AT MT GAMBIER

Our Lowther Hall stage band travelled to South Australia recently to compete in the annual Generations in Jazz Festival 2014. This festival is the largest Big Band festival in the Southern Hemisphere, home to over 3,000 student musicians. 

Our girls placed an impressive 5th competing against 30 other schools from around Australia.


SILVER MEDAL AT THE VICTORIAN ALL SCHOOLS ROAD RELAY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Lowther Hall girls from Years 7-9 took home the silver medal at the Victorian All Schools Road Relay Championships 2014 held at Albert Park. 

Our girls ran the gruelling relay in a time of 32:53. Congratulations girls!


TRACK AND FIELD STATE CHAMPIONS 

Maddison Caulfield, Leteitia Presser and Molly Gallagher have become Victorian Champions after winning 1st place in their respective races at the Victorian Junior Track and Field Championships 2014. 

After winning gold in the under-16 800 metre sprint, under-14 800 metre sprint and under-15 2km steeplechase respectively, we are immensely proud of their achievements.


VICTORIA'S BEST STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL (SRC) THREE YEARS RUNNING

Lowther Hall has won the VicSRC Award for Informed Representation for the past three years in a row. The Award recognises school SRCs that are truly democratic and fully representative of students. 

In 2013 our SRC coordinator was also runner up in the VicSRC Award for Outstanding Teacher Adviser in recognition of the support she provides to our SRC.


HIP HOP CHAMPIONS

The Lowther Hall Hip Hop team, The Clique, placed first in the 2013 Victorian Hip Hop State Titles before heading off to the National Titles in Queensland, where they won the silver medal. A fantastic achievement reflecting the hard work and dedication of all students involved!


Language competition winners

Three Lowther Hall students were awarded prizes in the recent Japanese Teachers’ Association of Victoria Speech Competition. Well done to Lucy Gregg (3rd prize) Eleanor Gray (3rd prize) and Chelsea Smith (4th prize).

A number of Years 11 and 12 students received honours in the 2013 Alliance Française Berthe Mouchette competition, including Megan Lowry and Ana Uta, who were competition finalists. Congratulations!
