We are proud to foster meaningful partnerships both locally and globally, enriching the educational experience of our students and strengthening our connection to the wider world. Through relationships with sister schools in countries such as Japan and France, students are offered valuable opportunities for cultural exchange, language development, and international understanding. The School is also an active member of leading educational associations, including the International Coalition of Girls' Schools and Independent Schools Victoria, which support professional growth, collaboration, and the pursuit of excellence in education. Additionally, Lowther Hall maintains strong links with charitable organisations such as Anglicare, encouraging students to engage in service and social justice initiatives that reflect the School’s values and commitment to making a positive impact. These partnerships play an important role in shaping globally aware, compassionate and community-minded young people.
Our students have the opportunity to engage with the world through enriching programs that foster global citizenship and cultural exchange. Each year, selected students attend the NASA Space Camp in the United States, immersing themselves in STEM-focused experiences alongside peers from around the globe. Our touring competition choir recently ventured to Europe, performing in renowned venues and participating in international choral festivals, showcasing both talent and teamwork on a world stage.
Led by the Prefect Body, House Fundraising Afternoon brings the entire school community together while raising funds and awareness for specific charities. Each year, House groups pair up to raise funds for a charity of their choice. In recent years these have included: Big Group Hug, Kicking Goals for Xav, Southern Cross Kids’ Camps, St Kilda Mums, Story Dogs and Wildlife Victoria.
Anglicare Victoria provides vital support to children, young people, and families in need, offering programs in foster care, family services, and crisis support. Through our partnership (particularly through our annual December toy drive appeal) we help empower communities by contributing to their education, wellbeing, and long-term resilience.
The Australian Himalayan Foundation works to improve education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability for communities in the Himalayas. Our support (particularly through our 'casual clothes days' fundraising) helps provide access to quality schooling, teacher training, and essential resources for children in remote regions.
For 30 years Co-operation In Development, has been quietly building schools in one of the poorest areas of Bangladesh on Bhola Island in the Ganges Delta. They call their schools Fred Hyde Schools after their remarkable founder. By helping to build the educational system and encourage the acceptance of basic primary education, they are creating a brighter future, using Bangladesh’s greatest resource – the children.
