Peter Williams is the Head of Raymond House (Junior School 2-6) at Lowther Hall, bringing a wealth of experience in primary education and leadership. Passionate about girls’ education, he is dedicated to fostering a values-based learning environment that empowers students to become confident, compassionate, and lifelong learners.

Peter Williams has been the Head of Raymond House (Junior School) at Lowther Hall Anglican Grammar School, Essendon, since January 2016. Prior to this, he spent nine years as Head of Middle Primary at Melbourne Grammar School. His career in independent schools began at Westbourne Grammar School, where he served as both an Information Technology Coordinator and a Primary Classroom Teacher. He then broadened his experience internationally, spending four years at Dulwich College Preparatory School in the United Kingdom as a Classroom Teacher and Boarding House Tutor.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts (Primary) and a Bachelor of Education from Deakin University. He furthered his expertise with a Master of Education (Administration and Leadership), also from Deakin, and recently completed a Professional Certificate in Adolescent Counselling at Monash University. Committed to continuous learning, he recently participated in the Reggio Emilia Study Tour in Italy.

Peter is actively involved in educational leadership at both state and national levels. He is a member of the Executive Team for the Victorian Independent Primary School Heads Association (IPSHA), where he serves as State Treasurer. Additionally, he is a member of the Australian Primary Principals Association and actively engages with the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools and the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA).

Passionate about girls’ education, Peter is dedicated to fostering values-based learning environments where students develop into critical thinkers, confident learners, compassionate individuals and life-long learners. He is equally committed to teacher development and leadership cultivation, ensuring that educators are equipped to inspire and guide the next generation.

Beyond his professional commitments, Peter has a keen interest in sport, theatre, the arts, fitness, and travel.
