Former students have the opportunity to maintain lifelong friendships, connect with a diverse network of women across various professional fields, and stay informed about the School's latest developments. They also play an important role in supporting current students, offering valuable career advice and guidance on life after school. Additionally, Old Grammarians are invited to participate in various School events throughout the year, fostering ongoing connections with the School community.
Staying connected with one another.
The School, in partnership with the Old Grammarians' Association, hosts a series of reunions each year, including those for the 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, and 40-year milestones. These gatherings provide a fantastic opportunity for Old Grammarians to reconnect with both their peers and the School.
Career and post-school advice for current students.
Old Grammarians play a crucial role in returning to the school to share their insights and advice on careers, university, post-school studies, and life beyond school. They are invited to speak at Careers Expos, student assemblies, and in-class presentations.
Staying connected to the Lowther community.
Old Grammarians are warmly invited to attend events designed specifically for them, as well as school-wide events throughout the year, including the annual Garden Party, Senior School Production, and music concerts.
Lunch events for Old Grammarians who live near to one another.
Regular catch-up events are organised for Old Grammarians living in outer Melbourne and regional Victoria, offering a great opportunity to reconnect with each other even if they are unable to attend events on campus.
The Old Grammarians’ Association was established in 1922 and is led by a dedicated volunteer committee of past students who work closely with the School to organise networking events and create meaningful opportunities for alumni to stay connected. It also proudly supports current Lowther Hall students by awarding a number of prizes and scholarships each year:
Lowther Hall’s history is woven with a strong sense of belonging and community, built around our commitment to educating girls. For generations, students, staff, and families have formed lasting connections, creating a supportive environment where every girl is valued and empowered. This spirit of togetherness continues to shape the School, ensuring that past, present, and future students always have a place at Lowther Hall as they grow into confident, capable young women.
At Lowther Hall, we hold our history in high regard, and each year we come together with Old Grammarians who graduated 50 or more years ago. This event is a meaningful celebration of shared memories and a lasting connection to the school. The current Prefect Body also joins the occasion, offering an opportunity to engage with Old Grammarians and gain insight into the school’s rich history.
