Seeking Community Funding Support

We are seeking the support of our community to help fund this important project.

  • Our goal for 2026 is to raise $400,000 towards the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment for our transformed Senior School Design Technology and Visual Arts Space.
  • We are excited to announce that all Building Fund donations in 2026 will directly support this project.

The Lowther Hall Building Fund was established over 60 years ago to support the ongoing development of our campus. Since then, it has helped create vital learning spaces across the School - from the Senior School building in 1967 to the recent completion of Blinkbonnie House in 2018. Your contribution will continue this proud tradition of investing in the future of our students.

A New Era for the Arts: Senior School Visual Arts Refurbishment

2025 Launch of Fundraising Campaign

We are seeking the support of our community to help fund this important refurbishment. Every contribution will reduce the amount the School needs to borrow, lowering long-term debt and ensuring more resources remain focused on student learning.

Early 2026: Transformation Begins

Construction is set to begin in early 2026, marking the next exciting step in the transformation of our Design Technology and Visual Arts facilities.

Early 2027: Official Launch

By the start of 2027, our transformed Design Technologies and Visual Arts facilities will be ready to welcome students into a new era of creativity and innovation.

Major Upgrades to Equipment

Upgrading our Design Technology and Visual Arts facilities with cutting-edge creative tools and equipment will unlock exciting new opportunities for students to bring their ideas to life.

What new equipment can we expect?

The upgraded facility will include laser cutters, 3D printers, laser printers, and industrial buffers, giving students access to industry-standard technology.

How will the new equipment enhance students’ learning?

The new equipment will allow students to develop new skills, and express their ideas in innovative ways, fostering deeper engagement and preparing them for further education or careers in the arts.

How will the new equipment prepare students for industry?

Students will be prepared for industry by experiencing the latest tools and technologies used by professional artists and designers. For example, they will develop vital work-ready skills in design, CAD software, prototyping, and tool handling.

Will all senior students have access to the new equipment?

Access is designed to support the specific learning outcomes at each year level, so while some equipment may be available to all, certain specialised tools will be used primarily in courses where they are most relevant.

Major Upgrades to Learning Spaces

A full refurbishment of our Senior School Design Technology and Visual Arts facilities will deliver modern, purpose-built spaces designed to enhance creativity, collaboration and innovation.

What will the new learning spaces look like?

The upgraded facilities will feature light-filled, flexible studio spaces designed to foster creativity and collaboration. Purpose-built areas for sculpture, painting, drawing, and digital media will allow students to move seamlessly from concept to creation. The spaces will be contemporary, inspiring, and adaptable, supporting a wide range of artistic practices and encouraging innovation across all year levels.

Will there be exhibition space for student work?

The upgrade will include dedicated exhibition space for student work. These areas will allow students to proudly display their creative projects in a professional-style setting, celebrate artistic achievement across year levels, and create opportunities for the school community to engage with and appreciate student expression. Exhibition spaces will also support students in preparing portfolios and showcasing their work in authentic, real-world contexts.
