Our comprehensive curriculum fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity across core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and Humanities. With a focus on holistic development, we encourage students to embrace challenges, collaborate with peers, and discover their unique strengths.
The Raymond House curriculum provides a comprehensive and engaging educational experience for students in Years 2 to 6, emphasising the development of critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. Core subjects such as Mathematics, English, Science, and Technology form the foundation of the program, with each area focusing on essential skills like fluency, inquiry, and problem-solving. The curriculum integrates real-world applications, from understanding mathematical concepts to exploring scientific phenomena and developing digital solutions. Humanities and Social Sciences foster an appreciation for history, geography, and civic responsibility through inquiry-based learning. Additionally, students benefit from the Learning Strategies program, which provides targeted support in literacy and numeracy, while the Library serves as a hub for research skill development and literature exploration.
Our holistic program assists the students to develop their self-esteem, positive relationships and successful interpersonal skills. This area is interconnected through the classroom, our Health and Wellbeing program, Circle Time, Check-In Systems, and whole school events such as assemblies and special days. Girls are given opportunities to develop their emotional intelligence with a strong focus on developing the Qualities of a Lowther Hall Girl through the following areas: social awareness, self-management, social management, and self-awareness.
Multiple cross age programs help foster our culture of inclusiveness and create additional opportunities for students to be known by peers of all ages throughout the School community. Girls across Raymond House also interact with Year 8 students through a mentoring program where they work with younger students as classroom mentors or camp buddies. Year 4 students become support peers to Year 2 students as they transition from the Early Years, and these relationships are maintained throughout their first year in Raymond House. All Year 6 students take on leadership roles, where they devise and lead activities for younger students, including those in the Years 2 to 6 range. These programs foster a sense of leadership, responsibility, and peer support across the different age groups within the school.
Our leadership program is at the heart of developing confident and capable leaders. The Year 5 preparation for leadership program provides explicit practice in essential leadership skills, setting the foundation for the more focused Year 6 leadership program. In Year 6, each student is given the opportunity to apply for a leadership role that aligns with her unique skills and interests. This application process is crucial in helping students identify their strengths and challenges, fostering self-awareness and personal growth. The program emphasises responsibility, with every Year 6 student holding a leadership position that supports both their development and the wider school community. Through these carefully structured programs, we ensure that each student has the tools and experiences needed to step into leadership with confidence.
An Environment that stimulates learning: our purpose-built spaces offer welcoming and stimulating experiences that support development.
