Our school community came together on Friday 16 May to celebrate National Walk Safely to School Day with a special edition of the Walking School Bus. Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers and student walkers who helped make the morning a success!
Students enjoyed a live music performance on arrival—and even had a surprise guest, Peppa Pig, join the walk!
Now in its 26th year, National Walk Safely to School Day encourages school-age children across Australia to walk and commute safely to school. The initiative supports healthier habits, reduced traffic congestion, and greater environmental awareness—all goals closely aligned with our school values.
Our Walking School Bus, operates in partnership with Moonee Valley City Council, and is a regular fixture every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning. It departs from the corner of Mantell and Park Streets at 8.25am and arrives at Raymond House at 8.28am and Blinkbonnie House at 8.35am. Trained parent volunteers coordinate the route, offering a safe and enjoyable way for students to begin their school day.
Special thanks once again to all who participated in this year’s celebration. We look forward to seeing even more families join our Walking School Bus in the future!
