Taking advantage of every opportunity!

Sonia truly personifies Lowther Hall’s focus on ‘educating the whole person for the whole of life’, and is no stranger to the cocurricular program at school! Taking full advantage of every opportunity afforded to her, the 2024 School Captain delved into a myriad of music, sport, and leadership activities including: the Lowther Hall Orchestra, Piano Ensemble and Lowther Singers Choir as well as orienteering, badminton, cross country, lawn bowls,
rowing and swimming.

In 2023, she ventured to France with the Lowther Hall French Study Tour and in 2024, received the highest of Lowther Hall accolades, voted by her peers as the recipient of the Winstow Prize. This Award recognised the student identified by their cohort as most exemplifying the Qualities of a Lowther Hall Girl including confidence, care, leadership and a clear set of values. Well done, Sonia!

Participating in different cocurricular opportunities gave me the ability to learn life skills such as persistence and resilience, and I thought it was really important that I didn’t just gain those skills from my studies, but from other activities that brought me a lot of joy and helped me develop as a person.
