Our inclusive sports program from Kinder to Year 12 ensures that every student, regardless of skill level, has the opportunity to engage in a variety of sports, promoting a lifelong appreciation for fitness and encouraging the values of sportsmanship and personal growth.
Lowther Hall is a proud member of Girls’ Sport Victoria (GSV), where we compete against 22 other independent girls' schools in a well-structured and competitive sporting environment. Our students have the opportunity to engage in Weekly Sport Competitions, GSV Carnivals that provide pathways to state-level competition, and the chance to represent the school in GSV Representative Teams for high-achieving athletes in selected sports. Additionally, GSV Sport Gala Days offer specialised sports clinics and competitions, providing our students with invaluable opportunities to develop their skills and broaden their athletic experience.
Students in Years 4 to 6 have the chance to participate in School Sport Victoria (SSV) events through the Buckley District Association, providing pathways to higher levels of competition. These include Buckley District Competitions in swimming, athletics, and cross country, as well as team sports such as soccer and AFLW. Students can progress from District competitions to Divisional, Regional, and even State Championships, offering them the opportunity to challenge themselves and excel in their chosen sports.
Students are provided with opportunities to compete in niche and high-performance sports beyond the GSV and SSV pathways. These include Netball School Championships, Basketball, Snowsports, Equestrian, Rowing, Fencing, Golf, Lawn Bowls, Orienteering, High-Performance Sport, and Rock Climbing. With a wide range of options available, Lowther Hall ensures that all students can engage in competitive sport, whether they are looking for a fun, inclusive experience or aiming to compete at an elite level.
Students from Years 2 to 12 are actively involved in a vibrant calendar of House Carnivals and sporting competitions that promote school spirit, teamwork and friendly rivalry. Key events include:
These inclusive events ensure that every student can participate, regardless of skill level, while also providing valuable opportunities for talent identification and selection into representative teams.
