Interschool Sport – Girls’ Sport Victoria (GSV)

Lowther Hall is a proud member of Girls’ Sport Victoria (GSV), where we compete against 22 other independent girls' schools in a well-structured and competitive sporting environment. Our students have the opportunity to engage in Weekly Sport Competitions, GSV Carnivals that provide pathways to state-level competition, and the chance to represent the school in GSV Representative Teams for high-achieving athletes in selected sports. Additionally, GSV Sport Gala Days offer specialised sports clinics and competitions, providing our students with invaluable opportunities to develop their skills and broaden their athletic experience.

Representative Sport – School Sport Victoria (SSV)

Students in Years 4 to 6 have the chance to participate in School Sport Victoria (SSV) events through the Buckley District Association, providing pathways to higher levels of competition. These include Buckley District Competitions in swimming, athletics, and cross country, as well as team sports such as soccer and AFLW. Students can progress from District competitions to Divisional, Regional, and even State Championships, offering them the opportunity to challenge themselves and excel in their chosen sports.

As a proud member of School Sport Victoria (SSV), we offer students from Years 4 to 12 the opportunity to participate in trial team selections for a variety of interschool competitions delivered by SSV. These trials are open to all students and provide a pathway for those wishing to represent the school - and potentially the region or State - in their chosen sport. Participating in SSV trial teams is a valuable opportunity for students to extend their skills, challenge themselves, and engage with wider sporting communities beyond the School.

Netball Victoria's School Championships presented by Deakin University is one of the largest netball tournaments conducted in Australia and attracts school teams from around the state. Teams play in a round robin format across multiple preliminary days around Victoria, with the top teams advancing through to the finals day at the State Netball Centre, where the state champions are crowned.
